Without music to decorate it, time is just a bunch of boring production deadlines or dates by which bills must be paid.

Music: Chemical Brothers & Prodigy Remixes

If you're in the mood for some free beats, download these two full length remix albums. The download app Bittorrent worked great.
Not content with the unprecedented international success of their last remix project, the team behind 'Always Outsiders, Never Outdone', the unofficial Prodigy Remixed album, have only gone and done it again. This time the Chemical Brothers latest album 'Push the Button' gets the remix treatment.

Music: John Legend

John LegendAllmusic aptly describes John Legend's great Get Lifted disc:
The production work supporting his songs strikes a fine balance between soul and hip-hop, allowing him to appeal to those who are coming from either angle.

He has a personable and instantly fetching voice you could listen to all day long.

Quotes: Squashed Philosophers

The Squashed Philosophers features condensed versions of great philosophers' works:
The books which defined the way The West thinks now
Condensed and abridged to keep the substance, the style and the quotes, but ditching all that irritating verbiage.

Web: Overhauled

I redesigned this site over the weekend. The header was influenced by a few episodes of TLC's Overhaulin'. I created the stop sign shaped bullets with SimpleBits' The Anatomy of an Icon in mind. And I added some quick links to posts about CSS, art, & Firefox to the sidebar.

After I make a few more adjustments here, I'll migrate this design over to my portfolio site too.

Ruth Schwarz
Excellent New York school drip painting. Titled "Tintinnebulation". Signed by Ruth Schwarz. Dated 1961. Serious early experimentions by other New York artists with Jackson Pollack’s new drip painting technique are considered rare.
In addition to the shape and thickness of the strokes, I was struck by the background of this painting. The green gives it an organic quality - almost like grass or trees are visible behind the twists of color.

Veerle's blog has a couple cool Photoshop tips and a link to an article outlining what's new in Photoshop CS 2.0. I've been using Photoshop since 1997 and am repeatedly amazed that there are always new tricks and shortcuts to learn.
