Web: Firefox For Developers

The Rapid Web Development and Testing with Mozilla Firefox presentation highlights ways developers can utilize Firefox in their work. Here are a few extensions in the presentation that I have not posted about before:
  • The ColorZilla extension captures color codes from any element on a page. Selections can be added to the color favorites palette or adjusted in the color picker window. The color codes can easily be pasted into Photoshop or a style sheet.
  • LinkChecker checks every link on a page, highlighting broken links and other issues. You can run LinkChecker on your bookmarks after exporting them to HTML.
  • MeasureIt allows you to draw a box across a web page to check height, width, and alignment of elements.
  • The Screen Grab! extension captures an entire web page (not just the visible window) and saves it to a PNG image. Requires Java.
  • Here's the current list of Firefox extensions I use.

Another extension I haven't documented here:
Tab Clicking Options

Allows double-clicking a tab to close it among many other customizable settings.
